Olivia and Lucy

We've been asked a lot how Lucy is doing with the baby. We are happy to report (for her sake) that she has been very good!
While I was pregnant I played LOUD clips of crying babies on the computer to get her used to the noise (a suggestion from our doctor). Andy brought one of Olivia's onesie's home from the hospital prior to Olivia coming home so that Lucy could get used to her smell. We kept the nursery door open so that she could go in and out and get used to all the stuff. We didn't know what to expect and hoped we had done enough to prepare THE DOG.
The first few days were a little rough...if Olivia cried, Lucy cried, barked, whined, etc. She also, attempted to eat a few baby toys, but Andy was able to intervene in time. She was needy and seemed to always require more attention too. She also got really worked up with all the visitors and her routine being so disrupted. That's the bad...thankfully after about a week she started to get used to the baby, her noises and her stuff and we have been fine ever since!
Lucy has turned out to be very gentle and quite the protector.

Welcome Spring...

It's hard to believe this was our backyard only a few days ago...good bye winter! We won't miss you and neither will Lucy!Today we were able to get out and enjoy the great weather! We went on our first walk with Olivia. We got her all bundled up in her snow suit (which is way too big) and packed into her carseat/stroller. She looked so warm and cozy...she must have been because she napped the whole way. It was great to get out of the house and spend some time outside...can't wait to do it again tomorrow!

Home Sweet Home

We have been very busy the last three weeks at home with Olivia.

We have been working on learning her routine (basically she eats, poops, cuddles, sleeps and repeats). She is still a little confused about what is day and what is night. She tends to sleep more during the day and stay awake in the middle of the night...this makes for very tired parents!

We have welcomed lots of visitors through the weeks and introduced Olivia to many friends and family...she is one loved little girl!

Welcome Olivia Ann Webb

Welcome to the Webb Family Blog.
Andy and I thought that this would be a nice way to keep friends and family up-to-speed with the happenings of our new life...mainly the addition of our beautiful daughter Olivia.

Olivia was born on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 3:48pm at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay, WI. She was 7lbs, 12oz and 19inches long. She was absolutely perfect!

Labor progressed quickly and without any complications...thankfully! Contractions started at 1:30am, Andy and I arrived at the hospital at 7:00am and Olivia was born at 3:48pm.

We brought Olivia home on Saturday, February 20, 2010. Andy and I met with the doctors and nurses prior to discharge and listened intently to ALL of the after-care directions for both mom and baby. It was all a bit overwhelming! We packed up the room, loaded the car, strapped Olivia in her new carseat and hoped we were ready for the huge adventure ahead of us!
